A brief history of our Christian Science Society:
In May of 2001, three students of Christian Science who lived in the Lafayette Square area of St. Louis, Missouri, decided to begin holding informal Christian Science services in a storefront at 1809 Park Avenue. There were no Christian Science churches on the south side of St. Louis city at that time, so there was a desire to fill this need.
The group met sitting in a circle and just took turns reading the Weekly Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly aloud to each other on Sundays, and on Wednesday nights took turns preparing some readings from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, and sharing their testimonies of healing with each other.
Sunday School for children up to the age of 20 began and is held the hour just before the Sunday Service. As more people began to join the group for these services, original guitar, recorder and piano music from several of the members began to accompany the services. This grew into the musical group called the Solo Committee.
Finally there were enough people involved that a decision was made to apply for listing in the Christian Science Journal as a Christian Science Society.  (Listing was granted in March of 2003 by the Mother Church.)
The group found a new storefront to rent at 1819 Park Avenue. The participants all gathered one weekend to paint it and move in. That’s where we still meet. All the activities of the Society are very much like a family operation. No one is paid and everyone finds a way to contribute as they can.
We still meet in a circle and try to keep the functions of church as simple as possible.   Now, almost five years later, the Christian Science Society of Lafayette Square continues to grow and find ways to share with our community including podcasts of our services which can be downloaded by anyone throughout the world from this website.

My name is Nosheen Victoria from Pakistan. I have been visiting your website for last year. It had been a good spiritual experience to visit your website. Your website helped me get conviction in my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am so much glad to share that this is the firs time the knowledge and information in the Scripture has touched my heart, because all what I had been listening was either superficial or had no Biblical Background. I suppose that people study and teach the Word of God just as a mere reading from it, and not profoundly.
The way you are preaching the word of God has touched my heart and purified my soul. I am moved to share the website with my friends and the relatives and the loved ones. I have also asked my friends to share the website with their loved ones, so the Scripture may be shared with any many people as is possible. I will be glad if these teachings are available in Urdu, Punjabi and Sindhi for the people of Sub-Continent, who really need to learn from the Word of God, and which make the major part of the world. I am a daily visitor to the website. I hope that it would be good idea to have the new Urdu or Punjabi sermons on the website.
And if you have less infrastructure to promote the studies and the teachings in Urdu and Punjabi language, you may know that I would love to offer my services for the Lord in this translation ministry. I assure that I will come up to you expectation in the service of the translation ministry and will accomplish things: Translation, Typing, Proof Checking, Typesetting, Printing, Recordings.
You may let me share with me whatever the Lord moves you to do and accomplish for the people of Asia.
